During the past 2 days, followers of The Ordinary and those who love to buy cosmetics on Shopee have continuously visited Blogger Vo Ha Linh’s personal page to update the latest information about this scandal. Specifically, at 1 a.m. on June 11, 2021, Team Ha Linh Offical received a response from Facebook a person named Minh Hang about the product The Ordinary Niacinamide 10%+Zinc 1% suspected of counterfeiting. The product is a Korean version, but on the packaging, when torn off at the edge of the paper packaging, there is the Vietnamese word “Box 3.4×3.4×11.5 cm”.
Previously, Minh Hang sent a message to present a question to the shop selling goods on Shopee, Au Han Cosmetics. After this private conversation, the shop transferred 10 million VND to the order account number on shopee who is Minh Hang’s lover for the purpose of thanking for discovering the incident. Seeing this unusual, Minh Hang transferred this case to Vo Ha Linh so that this Blogger girl could publish information to a large number of social media users.
Immediately after this information was shared, thousands of people who had ordered The Ordinary Korean product as well as other versions began to search for the box again to check if there were Vietnamese words. And many people have bought these suspected fake products. There are even people who have used it for a long time and are now very confused.
Currently, the matter has not come to a final result and there are many sides fighting each other. Vo Ha Linh has called on people to complain about suspected fake shops to Shopee for a refund. The shops listed by her are currently temporarily locked or closed.
The Ordinary is a popular Canadian cosmetic brand with affordable prices but high quality. However, because it has become so popular, now fake products, imitations of The Ordinary are rampant in the market. The company also does not have a genuine distribution store in Vietnam, so when looking to buy portable products, consumers must be very alert.
