According to the Workers, family of YH Bkrong, residing in Tam Thang commune, Cu Jut district, Dak Nong province, belongs to households with extremely difficult circumstances in the region. The fact that I did not have money to contribute to the fund, and my school records were kept by the principal, making me unable to change grades and continue studying, which annoyed many teachers at Ha Huy Tap Primary School (Tam Thang Commune).
Mr. Y Lieng, the grandfather of the student mentioned above, told a story that the family belonged to a near-poor household. YH Bkrong has neither father nor mother. My father left long ago and my mother followed when I could only sit. Y Lieng’s grandparents had to take care of and raise the boy.
Due to the lack of farming, Mr. Y Lieng had to pick up trash near the house. If you get a lot of money each night, you can sell it for 50,000 VND, the whole family only revolves around the main source of income from Mr. Y Lieng’s garbage collection.
He said that after the 2019-2020 school year ended, Y H. Bkrong was forced to leave school because he did not have 550,000 VND to pay the fund, so the school did not pay the transcript.
YH Bkrong’s 5th grade homeroom teacher said that after the school year ended, she presented YH Bkrong’s family situation, but the principal insisted on keeping the file. In meetings, she affirmed that this was a work against the conscience and morality of the teacher.
“The teacher should have mobilized the students to go to school, if they should have difficulties, they would keep the transcripts to collect money” – this teacher said.
Meanwhile, Ms. Nguyen Thi Minh Chau – a kindergarten teacher in the commune said that she was the one who drove Y H. Bkrong to school to pay for the principal. She also recounted that the principal did not know the receipt, but wrote it in his book.
After that, the teacher took Y. H Bkrong to Phan Dinh Phung Secondary School to apply for school and bought 2 uniforms for him, totaling 920,000 VND. It is September 28, 2020, the time when the new school year has begun for about 3 weeks.
Meanwhile, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Hai, Principal of Ha Huy Tap Primary School, said he did absolutely the right thing in this case.
He said: “The principle of going to school is to pay money and having agreed to all issues with this school, we must accept it. If we don’t pay, we have measures to keep… The rights go hand in hand with the obligations and I do it completely. it’s correct”(?!)
