Google Photos will update its new storage policy starting today, June 1. The platform previously allowed unlimited free photo storage in high-quality resolution, but that policy no longer exists. Any new photos and videos you upload to Google Photos starting June 1, 2021 will count towards the free 15GB storage included with all Google accounts. When you run out of 15GB of free storage on Gmail, Drive, and Photos, you’ll have to purchase more storage to continue uploading in high resolution.
Photos and videos uploaded before June 1, 2021 will not count towards your 15GB free storage. It will be considered free and exempt from the storage limit set by Google. If you want to double-check the current backup quality, you can access the backup and sync option in Settings.
If you’ve used up your 15GB of free storage, you can purchase more storage to continue to back up content at a cost of VND45,000/month.
