On the evening of June 4, Mr. Nguyen Tu Quang, CEO of Bkav said that in addition to Bphone, his company is also researching a Covid-19 test machine that gives results after only about 10 seconds, based on a sample of mouthwash from suspected cases.
This test procedure requires the tester to rinse the mouth with physiological saline, then put it in a test tube and put it into the analyzer. The projector projects a strip of light into the test tube, then at the output it will analyze what frequencies of light are absorbed, how much or how little is absorbed.
“Different frequencies of absorption will represent different pathologies. The analysis will use artificial intelligence to find out which samples are samples of people infected with Covid-19, and which are samples of ordinary people.” CEO Bkav said and said that this machine has been tested at the Central Hospital for Tropical Diseases, and has “preliminary results”.
However, Mr. Quang has not provided further photos or experimental evidence. A Bkav representative said that he would share more information about the device and test results in the next few days.
If the saliva test machine can give results after 10 seconds, this is a very short number compared to the forms being applied in Vietnam today. Because the RT-PCR test takes several hours, and the antibody test also takes 15-20 minutes.
Meanwhile, the breath test machine that Vingroup gave to the Ministry of Health is being imported to Vietnam and takes about 1 minute to give results.
